Cantrawl incorporates the latest technologies into the design and construction of its nets and related gears. The flume tank at the Marine Institute in St. John's, Newfoundland has played a significant role in our net designs. Over the last number of years we have maximized our designs through the effective use of computer trawl simulation with Ifremer Dynamit software. Cantrawl has worked closely with the Deep Sea Trawlers' Association of British Columbia and Fisheries and Oceans Canada to develop selective fishing gears and reduce energy consumption.
